The clutch pedal position switch is used to prevent starter motor engagement unless the clutch pedal is depressed. An input from this switch is also used to either shut down/prevent operation of the speed control system when the clutch pedal is depressed.Four Wheel Drive Feature: The clutch pedal position switch override relay, inhibits operation of the position switch when the vehicle transfer case is in the four wheel drive low-range position. This enables the starter motor to operate without depressing the clutch pedal, for off-road applications. If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) for the override relay or transfer case switch are stored, override relay will be inhibited.
