Remove the steering knuckle (Refer to 2 - SUSPENSION/FRONT/KNUCKLE - REMOVAL).Remove the axle shaft from the axle (Refer to 3 - DIFFERENTIAL & DRIVELINE/FRONT AXLE - 216FBI/AXLE SHAFTS - REMOVAL).4X4 only.

Position special tool 6761 (RECEIVER) (2) and 6289-3 (DRIVER) (4) with C-4212–F (PRESS)(1) as shown to remove upper ball joint.
