Shift transfer case into 4L.Remove the floor console as necessary to access the shifter mechanism. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INTERIOR/CENTER CONSOLE - REMOVAL)Disengage the transfer case shift cable from the shift lever pin and body.

Remove the nuts attaching lever assembly (1) to floorpan and remove assembly (2).Remove the shifter mechanism from the vehicle.
