Possible Causes
SENTRY KEY REMOTE ENTRY MODULE (SKREEM)
Diagnostic Test1. VERIFY THAT THE DTC IS ACTIVETurn the ignition on.Before continuing, review and check for the following:- The battery voltage must be above 10 volts.
- Review the repair history of the vehicle.
- Ensure that the PCM and SKREEM are programmed correctly. Compare the PCM VIN to the SKREEM VIN and ensure the two VINs match.
With the scan tool, clear DTCs.Perform 5 ignition cycles, leaving the ignition switch on for a minimum of 90 seconds per cycle.With the scan tool, read DTCs.Is the DTC active?Yes- Replace and program the SKREEM and Steering Column Lock Module in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform SKREEM VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/VEHICLE THEFT SECURITY - STANDARD PROCEDURE)
No- The DTC is not active at this time. Test complete.
