It is not necessary to remove the tailgate to replace the hinges if they are replaced one at a time.A suitable body sealant should be used when removing or moving the hinges.Using a trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, separate the hinge covers (3 and 4) from the hinges.Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of the hinge (1) on the tailgate.Remove the bolts (2) attaching the hinge to the tailgate.

Remove the bolts (1 and 2) attaching the hinge to the body.
