Disconnect the battery.Drain the engine oilInstall the TDC locking tool.

Remove the lower oil pan.

Remove the upper oil pan.Remove the oil pickup tube.

Place a dowel rod through the holes in the balance shaft axles to keep the balance shafts in the correct position for reassembly.

Remove the balance shaft housing.
