Disconnect negative battery cable.Install the crankshaft locking tool.

Remove the lower oil pan.

Remove the upper oil pan.Remove the pickup tube.

Place a dowel rod (1) through the holes in the end of the balance shaft axles.Remove the balance shaft assembly.
